Abstract

The globalization and digitalization of the service provision has meant also for the libraries that the risk management has become a vital part of the library work and management. At the same time, the libraries use more and more outsourced services in the digital world with technology that develops fast and to users that require more than maybe ever before in the human history. These all set high standards for the risk management and prevention. The adoption of a quality management system is a strategic decision for an organization that can help to improve its overall performance and provide a sound basis for sustainable development initiatives. Our paper compares two risk analysis approaches implemented at the Universitat Autonoma Barcelona and at the University of Eastern Finland.
